We had read up on the new DART light rail system and for improving on their public transportation, they do get a pat on the back!
I personally have never lived in Dallas, and will take your word on it the overall living with or without a car on it. I don't think you really actually can know the ins and outs of living in any city without actually doing so!

Dallas gets honorable mention? The fact that you didn't put Dallas in the worst city to live without a car list makes me doubt your other listings. Yes, Dallas has a rail and bus system and keeps expanding the rail system but besides the central business district there is NO density to Dallas! Everything is spread out and bus routes are infrequent. There are very few people who can make it without a car in Dallas.
